Sarah & Doug @ Mission Santa Barbara

Sarah & Doug chose the Santa Barbara Mission, one of the most iconic buildings in our city, for their beautiful Catholic wedding. My favorite part of Mission weddings are the bells that ring as the couple leaves the church. They departed by pedicab which took them to Historic El Paseo for the reception.

El Paseo is definitely one of my favorite reception venues. The restaurant is downtown and is actually in the courtyard of the building. There is a retractable roof that covers the courtyard, allowing an open air feel. The courtyard is also surrounded by a second floor walkway where the bride and groom can make their grand entrance (and also provides a great place to shoot from when the dancing gets underway!) Normally El Paseo is a Mexican restaurant but Sarah surprised me when she mentioned that the cook can whip up any type of cuisine your heart chooses. The food here is great and is one of our favorite Mexican places in town. Great ambience and food!

Congrats Sarah & Doug!!

Bret & Hayley (A Preview!)

If we could only use one word to sum up Bret & Hayley's wedding... we'd definitely choose FUN!  The moment Julia and I saw the mustaches on the hot sause bottles we knew this wedding was going to be full of all kinds of it!   :)  The groomsmen and bridesmaids just had so much energy that we could hardly hold the giggles in!

The opportunity to be a part of the celebration of Bret & Hayley's marriage with their awesome friends and family reminds us of how much we love taking photos!

Selina & Joe - August 21st

Selina & Joe got married on the beautiful grounds of Alice Keck Park in downtown Santa Barbara followed by a reception at the Moose Lodge.

This wedding was full of details that conveyed Selina & Joe's fresh and fun personality. The groom, groomsmen, and the bride kicked it in stylish pairs of custom Vans shoes. Selina's pair had the date of the wedding printed on the heel. The cake had a way cute penguin topper (Selina's favorite animal) - so as you can see we were the perfect match for her!

Nate & Roisin - July 2nd

In Hawai'i, ohana means family. However, this meaning goes beyond blood and marriage relations and extends to those who mean something to us and defines who we are. Every wedding is about family, but this wedding was about ohana.

Every part of the wedding meant something and was put together with love and care by somebody that Nate & Roisin loved. Even though Nate & Roisin live in Los Angeles, they decided to have their wedding in Carpinteria because that was where Roisin spent time camping with her family as a child. Roisin's dress and hairpiece were designed by Roisin herself and a family friend, who lovingly made her dream dress come true. The flowers and bouquet were put together by her sister and aunt. Her hair was done by her sister. There was authentic Irish butter and traditional Irish fruit cakes made by Roisin's mom. Live Hawaiian music was provided by her uncles. Their cake also came from a family friend. And of course, for good luck, a sashimi platter also provided by family.

One of our favorite parts of the wedding are the toasts. Listening to their family's stories about Nate & Roisin made us wish they lived a little closer so we could get to know them better! Congrats you two!
