Ryan & Nancy

"Cómo se dice "kiss" en español?" I tentatively asked Nancy. My Spanish is extremely limited which is unfortunate since I live in California and should be better. So I jumped at this opportunity to learn one of the more important wedding words in Spanish. ¡Beso!

This Santa Barbara courthouse wedding was another unity of international proporations. This is actually wedding #1 for Ryan & Nancy. We will be shooting their larger wedding and ceremony later next month but they wanted to be able to get the legal paperwork out of the way for Nancy who is from Colombia.

Ryan & Nancy were perfectly happy to play in front of the camera and their affection for each other was radiant. Congrats Ryan & Nancy! We are looking forward to wedding #2!!

Dr Webb

My wonderful, beautiful, and intelligent wife has just completed her disertation after 7 years of graduate school and is now Dr. Webb!  Julia had a captive audience... including our guide dog Nicki!

Graeme & Aselle

Kazakhstan is the world's largest landlocked country with less than 15 people per square mile. As part of my pre-wedding preparation, I had to do some Wiki-research on the country where this couple met, fell in love, and traveled from to get married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse. Graeme is Australian and Aselle is from Khazakstan and got married in the US. "It's easier," explained Graeme, at least in comparison to getting married locally.

Think wedding planning is difficult? Try planning a wedding over 6000 miles away and not knowing the date until a couple weeks before. Graeme & Aselle contacted us on Feb 2nd, flew in on Feb 5th, met me on Feb 6th, and then tied the knot on Feb 8th. Talk about a whirlwind! But the two were completely at ease over coffee and were wonderful to work with on the day of the wedding.

Since it was a weekday, the Penguin had to fly solo for our first wedding of 2012 and it was a great way to kick off our wedding season! Congrats Graeme & Aselle!

Jon & Kat's Engagement Session

We spent the afternoon with Jon and Kat and the best dog "Eva." Hanging out at Alice Keck Park, located in downtown Santa Barbara, is a regular habit for Jon and Kat. You can spend hours in this park sitting in the shade of the trees, enjoying the ducks and turtles, and watching everyone else do the same. We had the opportunity to learn about how these two met and got engaged as well as meet the newest addition to their household, a little white fur ball named Eva. After hanging out and throwing a frisbee around a bit, we headed for the court house and it's beautiful architectural landscape.

Can't wait for this cute couple to get married!
